Registration for this Saturday's Scout/ROTC event have exceeded 400!!  We need additional help running the event.   Anyone that volunteers to help runs their course for free.   If you can help please contact Mary Frank at frankdvoa at aol dot com or call 610-792-0502 and leave a message.  Again, we need additional help to make this event a great success... and a few hours of your time would be greatly appreciated!

COURSE SETTER NOTES FOR TYLER STATE PARK this Saturday

Saturday promises to be an ideal autumn day -- cloudless skies, high 60's and low 70's during courses, crunchy leaves but still plenty of canopy, with stilt grass (in the few places it exists) matted to the ground.  And total attendance will probably approach 600.

We will be using the ever-changing (and in some areas a dramatically transformed) disc golf area extensively, with longer courses (Orange, Green, and Red) crossing the Nashamany Creek for a run in open woods.  But I've kept all courses in the most runnable terrain (if you make good route choices Cool), visiting some of the most dramatic locations.  For all you summer series veterans, the more advanced courses are almost extended sprint courses, rewarding quick navigational decisions through mostly open woods in very detailed areas.

Mix in the enthusiasm of all the scouts and cadets and the woods will be hopping.  So come enjoy the day with us.  And if you can, help us out (e.g. experienced instructors especially will be much appreciated throughout the morning), but any large or small role will be a great addition.  Plus all volunteers get their course for free!

Parking, as it was last year. will be in a lot on the Bucks County CC campus that is right on the edge of the park, a nice paved walk gently downhill to our staging area in the soccer field.  All in all, a perfect day to celebrate orienteering.
