- Following their excellent results at the Team Trials Cristina Luis, Corinne Porter, Angelica Riley, Wyatt Riley, Sergei Zhyk, Clem McGrath were named to the US Orienteering Team.
- Tracy Acuff to Compete in 2009 Deaflympics
- DVOA member Tracy Acuff will be representing the United States at the 2009 Deaflympics to be held in Taipei, Taiwan starting August 26 and lasting until September 16, 2009
