Thanks to some hard work by Mary we now have permission for an event at Core Creek on Sunday June 13th.
On Saturday the 12th there will be orienteering as part of the senior games at Core Creek, but the Sunday event will be open to everybody.

To make the best use of the time of year and the park, the courses will have more of a sprint feel with lots of route choice. The terrain is mostly in the developed part of the park with a mix of fields, mown wooded areas, and pockets of thick woods that create route choices. Green and Red will visit the southern part of the park which is more wooded, but will still focus mostly on trails and route choice with a few ventures into pockets of open woods. Overall the courses should be fast and hopefully leave you without any embedded thorns (unless you get creative with some route choices).

Given the nature of the park and courses, anybody comfortable doing an intermediate (Orange) course who wants a longer distance option would be fine doing green or red.

Pre-registration required by Friday June 11th at 11PM: Register online at
    https://eventreg.orienteeringusa.org/eventregister/a40/register/start/dvoa-core-creek---june-13-2021

We will be using the north parking lot near Tollgate road. Look for a pop-up tent in the picnic area.  Hope to see you there.
