Just saw the Board-approved protocols for O-events for the rest of 2020 on the schedule page...

However, the same schedule page has many events listed with checkmarks, and I'm wondering if they are all still valid, as well as whether the notes are still relevant.

    Also a few Qs...
Will total registrations be limited, either in total or by time periods?
What is the policy on cancellations / refunds?
How close to the events will registration close?

    Guy,
My understanding is French Creek & Warwick are both re-confirmed with Park officials.

You can pre-register for French Creek here (on-site registration may be unavailable, or otherwise limited, so please do pre-register if you want to ensure you get a map!)

Total registrations are limited, and there is a 4.5 hour start window to spread people how - including 1.5 Early hours with limited entries.

Refunds shouldn't be a problem, email the registrar if you need to cancel.  And if the whole event is cancelled, we can do a mass refund (as happened with A-events this Spring.)

Registration closes 48 hours before the event - we need time to pre-pack your maps, loose descriptions & rental epunches.

    Thanks, Wyatt!

I haven't orienteered since October (NH), so this would be my first opportunity to take the new hip out for a spin.Sealed

How are you limiting registrations, including during that 1st 1.5 hours?  What are the numerical limits?

BTW, I was one of the lucky registrars to have to do mass refunds (Flying Pig - 160 registrants).  Then again, it's not like I was busy with anything else in April...

As of today, PA is limiting outdoor gatherings to up to 250 people. Our events are usually spread out and there will be no more than 250 people in total and I suspect no more than 25-50 at any given period of time during start window.

Everyone should use caution and be responsable person.

I know everyone is thinking through all the logistics as best as possible. Now my question: I would like to do French Creek but I want to do it during the two week "streamer" window. How do I register for this so that you will not count me towards the max number of participants on Sunday.

Also, BIG THANKS to all who are involved in this endeavor. It's quite an undertaking for a group of volunteers.

I may want to do an additional course during the "streamer window". Is there registration required or do I just
    "obtain" a map and go?

If you're planning to only orienteer at French Creek *after* August 2nd - please pre-register, and make a note in your registration, than you'd like a PDF emailed to you (around August 3rd.)  (These will be 8.5x11" for easy printing - not the 12.5x18" full maps that will be available for day-of competitors.)

Numerical limits is <1 person starting per minute (not per course - but total of 1 person.)

With current pre-registration totals, it's looking like ~0.2 people per minute.
