As mentioned in an earlier eboard post, Karen Williams Middleton will host a gathering in honor of her father, Jack Williams, at Myrick Conservation Center on Saturday, April 8. The event will begin at 1:00 pm in the Browning Barn. This will be an informal gathering. Food will be provided. In addition, a short beginner level orienteering course will be offered (2.4 km long, 50 m climb, all controls on trails). This is meant to be a reflective, not competitive orienteering course. There will be control stands and flags placed at each control along with pictures and information on Jack’s life. There will be no punch boxes or timekeeping. The course can be done anytime during the afternoon. Participants should allow approximately 90 minutes to complete the course. We welcome DVOA members to come celebrate the life of a long-time, dedicated club member. An accurate headcount is needed for planning purposes. If you plan on attending, please inform Karen no later than Monday April 3 at: karen.williams at chalmers.se
