Hot off the press - the OUSA Annual General Meeting just announced this year's winners of a few OUSA awards - and our very own Tom Overbaugh was recognized as a winner of the Golden Service Award - for decades of contributions to orienteering, from local & national event directing, course setting & registrar work, to mapping and regional technical expertise, and more!

It was my privilege to serve you and the broader orienteering community for so many years.  Recognition is nice but of course it’s not why we do things. I was always perfectly content toiling away in relative obscurity. Any award I receive is shared with the countless other individuals who helped in my endeavors.

Good luck with your Fall O season. I am dealing with some health challenges which don’t allow me to get out in the woods much these days. I still orienteer in my dreams though.

This is brilliant news. Tom has given so much to the sport over many years and it is great to see this recognized in thia award. Hopefully one day, Tom will return to the sport.
