We have Lysol disinfectant spray for the rental epunches and individual wrapped snacks and bananas in the wrapper nature provides for the snack table.  Of course you can bring your own refreshments.
There are nice restrooms and we invite you to wash up after your run.  You might also want to put something in the park donation jar which used to be on the visitor center counter.
We noticed at White Clay that everyone was being thoughtful and not putting their hands in the pretzel and cookie bags. We want to encourage you to come out and have a great run or hike in the beautiful woods of Batsto in the Pineys.

How about this motto? "Have fun while maintaining your social distance -- enjoy Orienteering!"

It is getting serious in Montgomery County- all schools, gyms, community centers and entertainment venues are closed for 2 weeks.

But...this is only an idea.  Call Batsto a training meet, don't charge, don't sign forms, just log in to the computer, get a loaner epunch if you need one, run, wave goodbye.  Bring your own water and snacks.

thanks kathy for the ED free  training & advert tips.  i am CS for a hvo 18 april O event, now likey using red pin punches (tbd).  we are montoring the situation and brainstorming the adim part of orienteering, and your tips and training ideas are interesting annd i and others may just implement a few of your "O" ideas as i am really trying to get outdoors (Fort Lee NJ) where healthy people will get healthy exercise and fun to boot and i have a big "don't panic" sign on my ED clipboard.   see all club hikers in the woods real soon ...

Well, as we all know by now, pretty much everything has been postponed.  Hopefully all the work that happens behind the scenes for a meet, even for a local event, can be "canned" and run another day.  At least for Batsto, there must have been a hundred communications discussing ways to make orienteering safe for everyone.  Some of these ideas might come in handy in the future.

Pretty much by accident, large parts of the red and blue kits have wound up in my garage.  I'll get in touch with the usual suspects and make sure all goes where it should.

Sorry it has come to this.
Kathy, Thank you for your efforts and looking for ways to make this work. It is sad that an outdoor event with maybe 100 people over a 3 hour period using one square mile of land is deemed a health risk. I get the concentrated area of registration but I think you had a good handle on managing that.
Looking forward to a media brown out :)
