Batsto Orienteering on March 15 -- We expect quite a crowd of DVOA folks, JROTC kids and South Jersey Outdoors hikers, so while we have some help lined up, we need YOU to volunteer for an hour or so so everyone can have a chance to get out on a course.  Sam and Lena are having a scoring technical dress rehearsal (is that a thing?) for the Big Woods National event so expect to see results on the big screen!

Check out Bob's notes on the Batsto courses below.  It should be a great day in the Pineys before the green and the bugs are out to annoy us and the running is fun and the historic village is picturesque and interesting.

So come out and have fun on your course and hang around to help for an hour or so.

The easiest way to see course stats and descriptions is to visit the schedule page....

Batsto is at its most inviting conditions ever.  White and Yellow will visit a few areas those courses have never seen.
Orange and above will have the run of the place with the least blueberry/groundcover imaginable after its massive surprise controlled burn in 2018.  The subtle and picturesque pinelands terrain welcome and reward careful map reading and route choice where most often you can simply go directly to your next control.  What a concept in the pinelands!!!

Even long range forecasts are cooperating, promising some sun, some rainless clouds in the low 50's, so we'll be good to go.  Come join us for the best orienteering the SJ Pinelands can offer.  And if you can, lend a hand for a little bit before or after you run a course.

See you in the woods. Cool

Chris - you're signed up as a greeter.

Looks like quotes are not allowed when entering names. The problem was from the "Uncle Buck" entry.

Excellent.  I will practice my "elbow bump" greeting - I was quite confused the first time an "elbow bump" was offered instead of a handshake  :)
