Reply by kathyu on Mon Jun 17, 2019 at 4:56 pmI have rocketed to 22nd place simply by virtue of being there. I'm sure I'll soon be overtaken by anyone who actually runs faster than pretty much anybody. But I am having so much fun getting in my Wednesday night workout. Thanks to everybody!

Reply by furlong47 on Mon Jun 17, 2019 at 10:22 pmHey, you never know Back in the national sprint series days, I made it into the finals one year simply by attending a ton of sprints and ending up in the top 10 or whatever based on points. It was at some park in NY, I believe as part of a NAOC or a US Champs. Many of the control sites were in dense foliage with sort of a one path in and out deal. Since I was ranked lower, I started at the beginning of the women's race. I spent most of the time trying not to get trampled or get in anyone's way. They all blew by me and I was out there long enough that in my later controls the same situation occurred with the men's race passing by So be careful if they are literally overtaking you
