Please join us for World Orienteering Day at FDR Park and the American Swedish Historial Museum this Wednesday, May 15.  Courses open at 4:30pm and controls will be picked up starting no later than 7:30pm.

The museum has a wonderful exhibit on the history of compasses and navigation and entry to the exhibit is free for participants in the orienteering event.

The event is the first in our Wednesday evening Summer Sprint Series.  Don't let the word sprint deter you - you can do the courses at whatever pace you like - and the courses are beginner friendly.

This is a fundraiser for the US Team and prices are slightly different: $10 for one course, $15 for two.  Come out and support the country's best orienteers, be part of World Orienteering Day and have fun running on a brand new map!  Hope to see you there.

What a great evening of orienteering!  We had perfect weather, lots of participants, lots of first timers and a fabulous crew of helpers.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate World Orienteering Day!

A VERY BIG thank you to Dave and Kathy Urban, Ann and Mac MacMullen, Lena Kushleyeva, Tim Walsh, Glen Tryson, John Campbell and everyone else who pitched in to make it all run smoothly.  I know it's not the easiest park to get to, especially during rush hour, so I appreciate everyone's willingness to fight the traffic and come out to support the club and our friends at the American Swedish Historical Museum.

(RouteGadget will be coming but not until after Sunday's event since it's the same courses.)
