As part of the Summer Sprint Series DVOA will be hosting an event at Fort Washington State Park on June 12th. I wanted to give more details about the event here.

The event will be set up by 3pm for anybody that wants to come early. We will close at 7pm in order to have time to take all the controls out of the woods.

There will be 3 sprints available. There will be one that is suitable for novices, one that will incorporate a micro sprint in the middle of the course and one that will only be a micro sprint course.

Micro sprint courses utilize many controls in a very small area of the park and are printed at an appropriate scale. For this event an open area with scattered trees, grills, signs and benches will be used. It will be printed at a 1:750 scale. A copy of the map will be available at the registration area. We used this format, but a different area, at last years summer sprint event and many experienced orienteers found this to be a challenge.

I look forward to seeing you there!
