Hi All DVOA and HVO members, after some great computer results salvage (HVO had a real Bad Results commputer crash at 12 noon on Sunday 14 October at the Wanaque Ridge O meet/Dual Meet.  We have found a Dual meet winner.
My Math applied to the HVO Dual Results  "list" - shows that by 6, 5, 4, etc. points rules  (top 3 runners each club each course except exclude yellow Short, course)  show that the final scores ...  is HVO runners bravely scored 53 Dual Meet points, and the Larger contingent of DVOA runners scored 83 points.  Ironic, 11 points on the Potter Quiz sa no Potter heads taking a Quiz chance, I will save that quiz for the books 25th anniversary, in about 2 years.  Yes, a majority of the Potter/JK Rowling Wizard school & saga books are over 20 yars old, but I still enjoy reading them.  May the Luck be with you. Go Team DVOA, you get the glory of the HVO/DVOA Dual O meet.

My Speial Event Director ... High Five - Thanks for All HVO and DVOA members who helped register and get you all-out on the Paul Bennett gret Orienteering courses on a Good Enough topo map.  Weather was a nice 65 degrees and mostly sunny skies.

Thanks to Ching-Hua, Guy O, Craig and Geof, Albina and Peter Z, Judy, Nayda, Bob Bullions, Betsy, Kathy and Dave Urban, Richard E, Petr, Lena, Patti, and Paul O, and any others whom I know helped with training lesons but maybe I did not notice, it was still appreciated.  We registered 150 starts and over 180 persons when groups were, counted. Spcial Thank to Jeremy C. HVO whom stopped his Red course run briefly, to collect and guide 3 lost HS beginr cadets ... who got confused and wandered off the W map as far as I could tell (cell phone contact made), and whom correctly sent them southwest to the start and finish/parking area.

With over 50 red and green runners (and a few pretending to be OJ or Brown runners), the results show many Close Orienteering winners, red pace less than 2 minutes betwween #1 winner snd the #2 runner up.   applaud the social interpaly between the clubs, and hope like the Harry Potter Tri-Wizard contest (book 4, GOF)  between three Wizarding shools  ....   that this type of Dual map event brings out the best of the two O cubs together, rather than ID Our 2 running clubs vying for individual glory in electronic O results.
Thanks for all the help. Event Director,  Bob Rycharski

Oriana would love to do Harry Potter quiz, but ran out of time after being in the woods for almost 2 hours
