Typically in the afternoon before our winter meeting we hold information/discussion sessions. This year's meeting date is Saturday, Jan. 27. Info/discussion sessions will likely be held between 2 and 5 p..

Some topics that have been discussed:
    - course setting 101 (a brief overview)
    - how to use e-punch, both the software and the hardware
    - mapping projects, short-term and long-term
    - outreach: growing our sport in the Delaware Valley area
    - planning for Hickory Run training weekend 2018

I'd like to gauge interest in these topics as well as see if there are others people would like to see discussed. Please post your comments/suggestions here or email me by clicking on the photo at the left.

Also, would you be interested in a speed-dating type discussion or more in-depth conversation?

I would like a discussion leading to an action plan on Growing Volunteers. Too many 2017 events had the ED/CS begging for help at the last minute. Too many of our usual volunteers are suffering from PVSD (Post Volunteer Stress Disorder), AKA Burnout.

DIY Mapping - some CSs have commented they have updated the map to include additions/deletions of mostly "man made" objects. I'd love to join them but don't have a clue on getting started. I just have lotsa questions: What software is needed, Does someone double check my work, How do the changes get added to our digital map library, What revision/change numbering system should we use.

Hi Nancy, I vote for the Course setting 101 WITH basic CS handouts.  I also would like to hear about how DVOA will host and staff two back to back very Large May events, namely MASOC and the Patriots JrROTC Champs at French creek.  While I am sure the events will be top quality, but I wonder just how it will be done/planned without volunteer troubles, will staff be able to O run after there help, crowd control plans or what happens if one or both weekends have bad (severe, Hurricane Sandy like) weather effects.  While I am familiar with MASOC staff  operations, having helped at over 6 of them, having 2 large back to back events with only 5 days between them, it's a unique club challenge.

Has there been any convergence on topics?

Tentative list, depending on interest of those in attendance at the time:
2:30 - outreach: growing our sport

3:00 - mapping projects - near and short term

4:00 - volunteer recognition/reward (discussion led by Erik Eddy)
