We were just approved by French Creek State Park to host the 1st ever Mid-Atlantic JR ROTC and Military High School Championships on Saturday May 12, 2018.  Bob Burg has been successfully hosting an event for the past years with the Navy JR ROTC units from Navy HS region.  The Patriot's Orienteering Challenge will be inviting all JR ROTC branches in the invitation along with Military High Schools. The morning will be a regular cross-country event and the afternoon will be team relays.  For each 10 particpants from a school in the morning the school will be allowed to enter 1 relay team of 4 for the afternoon. With so many spectators from the schools it could be an exciting event to watch.

Preliminary information on the event will be going out to schools before the end of December.   Looking for some key roles for both this event and the MASOC30 event to be held at FCSP the Saturday before.  Registrar for the POC will be Mary Frank and for MASOC30 Ed Scott.  Ron Wood has volunteered to head up MASOC30 start crew.  John Gillette has also offered support for epunch at MASOC30 and possibly POC.   A few others in DVOA had told me they would like to help with POC once I confirmed a date and place.  There are a lot of crew and lead positions if you are interested for either event.  Send me an email at orienteer7 at aol dot com. and let me know which event and how you can help.  Both Friday's before each event will require a crew to place controls and water.   We will be using port-a-johns for both the MASOC30 weekend and the following Saturday and we will be working out of the pool area to support the parking needed for each event. Registration will be located just below the main pool parking lot.

POC has the chance to see 800+ participants within the first couple of years. We want both events to run like a DVOA National Event.  Please let me know where you can help....no experience is necessary.
