Reply by Sandy on Tue Nov 14, 2017 at 4:52 pmAs far as I can remember, DVOA has put together most of its relay teams the day of the event with maybe a little planning done ahead of time. There are usually some pre-defined relays (families or other groups that want to run together) with the rest of us just splitting up into teams as we see who is there and who is interested in sticking around to run the relay after running a regular course. Usually the relay composition has some handicapping (must have a young person or someone at least xx years or a female or some combination or something else completely random) with perhaps penalties added to times if you don't meet some critieria. The course setter and event director have wide latitude in determining this but hopefully will post the rules soon.
