Reply by polinkov on Mon Jul 31, 2017 at 7:09 pmAlong the same lines: Is there camping at Hickory Run? Sorry for the ignorance, I'm new here :)

Reply by Steve on Mon Jul 31, 2017 at 7:55 pmWe rent a camp each September for the training weekend. The camp has approximatley 100 plywood bunks spreadout over 50 cabins. If you want to stay in the camp, which makes life much easier to do the additional things like the night o, you may sign up when you sign up for training. If you own a trailer, or prefer a tent, you will have to make arrangements with the park service to stay in thier campsite. I beleive Nancy will open registration very soon. The park campgrounds can be accessed via the web or 1 888 PAPARKS.Ed, you may want to adjust the schedule so that people realize the Saturday event is a night o with an 8 PM start

There are already lots of people registered so if you want to stay in the camp with the cabins register soon! -

Reply by Nancy on Sat Aug 5, 2017 at 7:39 amCabin space is now pretty much accounted for. There might be a slot or two available; contact the registrar. (Click on the Hickory Run Training Weekend box on the home page.)Tent camping: only available in approved camping site down the road, through the state; no tents allowed in the DVOA training camp area.Night-O and Sunday O: If you're not staying in the DVOA area, please contact the registrar with your name and number of maps/course you'd like to reserve. We want to make sure we have enough maps on hand.Take note of reduced start window on Sunday: courses close at noon, rather than 1 p.m.Volunteers needed! We need people to assist the kitchen crew, starting Friday afternoon and continuing through the weekend. No experience necessary! All kinds of tasks involved, from food prep (chopping) to clean-up. Any time you can provide will be helpful.Other volunteers are needed to make sure the camp area is in good condition before we leave on Sunday. Also, control pick-up on Sunday is always appreciated. Most of the usual volunteers will have been there all weekend and would appreciate help down the final stretch.

Reply by furlong47 on Sat Aug 12, 2017 at 9:38 amI sent an email anyway a few days ago because I need a night-o map, etc. We used to just register like everybody else and make a note about being a trainer.
